【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesawaytomeasureandquantifybarcodeprintqualityusingcommerciallyavailablebarcodeverifiers.Possibleusesincludethefollowing.Performancecomparisonsbetweenmediasuppliedbydifferentmanufacturers.Performancecomparisonsbetweenimagingmaterialssuppliedbydifferentmanufacturers.Performancecomparisonsbetweenprinterssuppliedbydifferentmanufacturers.Performancecomparisonsbetweendifferentprintingmethods.Researchanddevelopmentevaluationofdevelopmentalcoatings,ribbonsandmediaforvariousprintingmethodsforbarcodeimaging.Manufacturingprocesscontrolcanusethistestmethodtoauditproductperformance.1.1Thispracticedescribesaspecificprocedureforusingabarcodeverifiertomeasureandquantifytheopticalandsymbologycharacteristicsrelativetotheprintqualityofabarcodesymbolanditsperformancewithinabarcodereadingsystem.MeasurementstakenwithbarcodeverifiersshouldconformtoANSIANSX3.182x2013;1995[R]methodology.Variousprintingmethodsincludingdirectthermal,thermaltransfer,electrophotographic,dotmatrix,andinkjetmethodsareusedtoproducebarcodesymbols.Useofthisprocedurewillhelpassurerepeatabilityofmeasurementsbetweenoperatorsandpiecesofequipmentandtraceabilityofthosemeasurements.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
