【摘要】:Moisturewillaffecttheprocessabilityofsomeplastics.Highmoisturecontentcausessurfaceimperfections(thatis,splayorbubbling)ordegradationbyhydrolysis.Lowmoisture(withhightemperature)causespolymerization.Thephysicalpropertiesofsomeplasticsareaffectedbythemoisturecontent.1.1ThismethodusesthereactionofIodine(I2)withwater(KarlFischerReaction)todeterminetheamountofmoistureinapolymersample.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtobeusedforthedeterminationofmoistureinmostplastics.PlasticscontainingvolatilecomponentssuchasresidualmonomersandplasticizersarecapableofreleasingcomponentsthatwillinterferewiththeI2/waterreaction.1.3Thismethodissuitableformeasuringmoistureovertherangeof0.005to100%.Samplesizeshallbeadjustedtoobtainanaccuratemoisturemeasurement.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareregardedasthestandard.Note18212;ThisstandardistechnicallyequivalenttoISO15512MethodB.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
