【摘要】:Hexavalentchromiumsaltsareusedextensivelyinmetalfinishingandplatingapplications,inanodizingaluminum,andinthemanufactureofpaints,dyes,explosives,andceramics.Trivalentchromiumsaltsareusedasmordantsintextiledyeing,intheceramicandglassindustry,intheleatherindustryasatanningagent,andinphotography.Chromiummaybepresentinwastewaterfromtheseindustriesandmayalsobedischargedfromchromate-treatedcoolingwaters.Thehexavalentstateofchromiumistoxictohumans,animals,andaquaticlife.Itcanproducelungtumorswheninhaledandreadilyinducesskinsensitization.However,itisnotknownwhethercancerwillresultfromingestionofchromiuminanyofitsvalencestates.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofhexavalentandtotalchromiuminwater.Threetestmethodsareincludedasfollows:TestMethodConcentrationRangeSectionsA-PhotometricDiphenyl-carbohydrazide0.01to0.5mg/LB-AtomicAbsorption,Direct0.1to10mg/LC-AtomicAbsorption,GraphiteFurnace5to100g/L
