【摘要】:Thisguidehasbeendevelopedtoaidnavalarchitects,shipdesigners,materialandequipmentsuppliers,buyers,shipownersandoperators,andgovernmentagenciesbyprovidingpertinentinformationinonedocumentthatcanbeusedduringvariousstagesofcommercialshipbuilding.Thesestagesincludedesign,planning,purchasing,materialfabricating,assembling,testing,qualityassurance,andinspection.Thisguideisanon-technicaldocument,meaningthatitdoesnotspecifyhowaparticularstandardistobeimplementedbyanypersonoragency.Localornationalregulatoryagencieshavingjurisdictionandoversightofshipdesignandoperationsmayincorporateallorpartofanyparticularstandardintheirregulations.Theremaybemorethanonestandardlistedforaparticularproduct,test,orspecificapplication.However,thisguidedoesnotcomparethedifferentstandardsorspecifywhichparticularstandardshouldbeused.Apartiallistofsourcesforobtainingvariousstandardsisincludedbelow.OthersourcesmaybelocatedbycontactingvariousinformationcenterssuchasthoseatASTM,theNationalInstituteforStandardsandTechnology(CodesStandardsandInformation),andtheAmericanNationalStandardsInstitute.InformationisalsoavailablethroughvarioussitesontheInternetWorldWideWeb(forexample,http://www.webplus.netnssn).Whenordering,organizationsshouldconsiderobtainingthelatestcopiesofstandardsascompletesetsorportionsofsetsinwhatevermediaareappropriate(forexample,hardcopy,CD-ROM,ormicroform)sincepurchasing,qualityassurance,andengineeringdepartmentsarefrequentlylookingforinformationaboutstandardscalledoutincontractspecifications,andthesestandardsvaryfromonecontracttoanother.TheabbreviationsusedinTable1aredefinedinhereinthisparagraph.Someofthesourcesfororderingstandardsare:1.1Thisguideisacompendiumofrelevantpublications,standards,andotherinformationrelatedtocommercialshipbuilding.
