【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforusebythoseinthewastemanagementindustriesforthedeterminationofapparentspecificgravityandbulkdensityofwaste.Theapparentspecificgravityandbulkdensitydeterminedbythistestmethodcanbeusedfortheconversionofmeasuredvolumestoweights.Theapparentspecificgravityandbulkdensity,whencorrelatedwithotherproperties,canbeusedtoindicatethecharacterofthewaste.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofapparentspecificgravityandbulkdensityinwaste.Forthepurposeofthistestmethod,materialstobemeasuredwillbeclassifiedintothreegroups:1.1.1GroupA8212;Free-flowingliquids;apparentspecificgravity(ASG),1.1.2GroupB8212;Granules,powdersandwaterreactiveliquids,solidsorsludges;bulkdensity(BD),and1.1.3GroupC8212;Bulksolids(suchasgravel,paperorwood,etc.);apparentspecificgravity(ASG).1.2Thistestmethodisdesignedandintendedasapreliminarytesttocomplementthemoresophisticatedquantitativeanalyticaltechniquesthatmaybeusedtodeterminespecificgravity.Thistestmethodofferstotheusertheoptionandtheabilitytoscreenwasteforapparentspecificgravityorbulkdensitywhenthemoresophisticatedtechniquesarenotavailableandthetotalwastecompositionisunknown.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,seeSection9.
