【摘要】:Integratingergonomicprinciplesintonewoccupationalsystemsmayhelpbusinessesdevelopprocessesthatdonotexceedworkercapabilitiesandlimitations.Jobsandtasksthatconformtoworkercapabilitiesandlimitationsmaybeperformedmoreefficiently,safely,andconsistentlythanthosethatdonot.Theapplicationofergonomicprinciplestotheprocessesinvolvedinoccupationalsystemsmayhelpavoidsystemfailuresandinefficiencies.Theintegrationofergonomicprinciplesattheearlieststagesofprocessconceptanddesignmayfacilitateappropriatedesign,layout,andallocationofresourcesandmayreduceoreliminatethenecessityforlaterredesignthatcouldhavebeenforeseen.Designingjobsthatfitthecapabilitiesoflargerpopulationsegmentsmayincreaseanorganizationrsquo;accessibilitytotheavailablelaborpool.Theintegrationofergonomicprinciplesintooccupationalsystemsmayincreaseprofitbyloweringdirectandindirectcostsassociatedwithpreventablelosses,injuries,andillnesses.AppendixX1containsalistofreferencematerialsthatmaybeusefulinparticularapplications.Allappendixesarenonmandatory.FIG.1GettingStarted1.1Thisguideisintendedtoassistintheintegrationofergonomicprinciplesintothedesignandplanningofnewoccupationalsystemsfromtheearliestdesignstagesthroughimplementation.Doingsomayreduceoreliminatethenecessityforlaterredesignthatcouldhavebeenforeseen.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
